Dear Bobcats family,

Bond funding provided some exciting improvements at Hammond Elementary School, which were completed over the summer!

Thanks to voters around the district who approved the 2018 bond, more than $1 million was invested in improvements at Hammond. The upgrades we received over the summer helped to increase safety and security in the school, improve the music program space, and much more.

Front entry renovations
Hammond received renovations to the front office to increase visibility of the main entry, which allows office staff to monitor the entrance and provide service to visitors within a secured check-in space before granting them access into the building.

Additional improvements
Other improvements included music room improvements, such as new paint and electrical outlets, a roofing replacement, intercom system upgrades and electronic badge access system upgrades. We also replaced the old portable building with a newer one that provides a more comfortable learning environment.

Information about other schools that received or will receive improvements in the 2018 bond program can be found at salkeiz.k12.or.us/projects-status.

We truly benefit from the bond-funded improvements provided here at Hammond. Thank you so much for supporting our students, and thank you, voters!

Sincerely,
Principal Teresa Alfaro
